| Summary: | Change the seeding criteria to mirror class B and take the TOP/LOWEST three (girls) or four (boys) differential scores rather than the total average differential scores. | |||
| Rationale: | For teams that have many girls around the same skill level, the varsity line-up can vary a lot throughout the season. With the current criteria, it limits a coach's incentive to enter some tournaments as a varsity group or try certain players in the lineup for fear of harming the differential. This has the unintended consequence of some players not getting the minimum number of varsity events allowed to qualify as an individual. To pick all of your varsity events at the beginning of the year just seems counterintuitive, especially if you really do not know who the top 5 are yet. | |||
| Pros: | Allow flexibility in scheduling and increase chances for more players to get varsity meet experience. | |||
| Cons: | Less of a spread of differential averages by the end of the season and ability for some teams to manipulate their differentials (which I think happens already). | |||
