Summary:Wrestling teams have low participation numbers may opt out of qualifying for the State Dual Tournament and are allowed more flexibility in scheduling (18 dates instead of 10 tournaments and 8 duals in addition to district and state events)

Proposal: Teams that are unable to fill at least 10 weight classes in all classes for boys and girls may opt out of qualifying for State Duals. Teams that are able to meet these minimum weight-class requirements are not eligible to opt out of State Duals.

Currently: Teams that are unable to fill at least 10 weight classes in Classes A, B, and C & Girls, 8 weight classes in Class D may opt out of qualifying for State Duals.
Rationale:Consistency across all classes of boys and girls wrestling. Teams that meet the minimum number of weight classes will be eligible to participate in the State Duals. This update to the qualification process ensures consistency and competitive fairness. Allowing eligible teams to opt out could influence the qualification process and create situations where teams choose not to compete for reasons unrelated to their ability to field a competitive lineup. Requiring participation ensures that State Duals qualification is determined by competition and that all eligible teams are held to the same standard.
Pros:Provides consistency, integrity and fairness to State Dual qualification.

Teams that meet the minimum number of weight classes will participate in the State Duals qualification process.
Cons:None.
